At U.S. Century Bank, we take immense pride in our team of dedicated and talented professionals who continually strive for excellence. Today, we spotlight one such remarkable team member — Amirah Mohammad, our corporate and regulatory counsel and board-appointed privacy officer. Her journey is one of resilience, dedication, and a deep commitment to her profession.
A Multifaceted Legal Expert
As corporate and regulatory counsel, Mohammad plays an integral role in ensuring the safe and sound operation of the Bank. She exemplifies versatility and expertise across a broad spectrum of legal disciplines, including corporate law, regulatory compliance, contract law, oversight of external litigation, legal research and analysis, and corporate governance. She also collaborates with other risk management and compliance team members, supporting all business and operational units to ensure complete adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
A Leader and Mentor for Women In-House Counsel
Mohammad is also a member of the South Florida Women's In-House Counsel Group, an organization created and run by women to support and empower female in-house attorneys. Recently, she was appointed to chair the organization’s Professional and Career Development Committee, where she will lead initiatives to foster the growth and advancement of women lawyers in various sectors.
"Congratulations to Amirah on her new appointment,” said Maricarmen Logroño, EVP and Chief Risk Officer of U.S. Century Bank. “Her work ethic and dependability make her an asset to any organization she is part of.”
The Florida Association for Women Lawyers recently featured her in a publication where she shared insightful advice. Her message to women in the legal profession is powerful: continuously push yourself out of your comfort zone. Discomfort does not necessarily mean something is wrong; sometimes, it is just a sign of growth.
A Lifelong Learner and Achiever
Mohammad earned her law degree from the Florida International University College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Lamar University in Texas. She is currently the vice president of the Florida School of Banking’s class of 2025, a prestigious program that offers comprehensive training in banking and finance.
We are proud to have Amirah Mohammad as part of our U.S. Century Bank family, and we look forward to celebrating her future successes.
